It's often times at the end of a season as we prepare for the next, that we decide to do a closet clean out. I'll be the first to admit that I have quite a few clothes, but I feel like I am good at recognizing what I don't wear. I am typically pretty good at staying on top of cleaning out my wardrobe, mostly so I can make room for more (insert the shrugged shoulders and mischievous eyes). My rule typically is that if in two seasons I haven't worn it, then it needs to be sold or donated. I think that's fair considering that often times we carry clothes throughout different seasons. If I haven't worn it, obviously there isn't a need for it anymore. There are, however, items in your closet that are considered "staples". These are items that don't necessarily have a season to be worn, but can be worn and styled in so many varying ways. These are pieces that are timeless, they will never not be in style and they will always be pieces that can be styled with "on trend" fashion. These are also items that you can justify spending a little more money on because you know that you are going to get a lot of use out of them for a long time. I thought long and hard about what pieces I would never discard from my closet and I came up with these fifteen staples. If you have these fifteen items in your closet, then your options for styling are endless. If you don't have these fifteen items in your closet, then consider my styling tips for each staple to determine what you're missing out on. Let's talk pants. We all know a good pair of black leggings goes a long way! The possibilities for leggings are endless. My favorite way to style leggings, aside from with a big ol' oversized sweatshirt, is with a longer blazer and some tall black boots. This allows you to look professional and feel cozy all in one outfit. I also love leggings with a classic cardigan and some statement booties. Black pants, specifically blank jeans are a must. I find that black jeans allow me to be so much more flexible in my teaching wardrobe. I am able to style them more like jeans but get away with it because they are black and more professional looking. I will often put together a work outfit based off of what I wore with jeans over the weekend and just simply change it from blue jeans to black jeans. That brings us to blue jeans, clearly everyone needs to own a pair of blue jeans. However, it is the most important that you find a pair of blue jeans that make you feel your absolute best. You need a pair of blue jeans that will work with any outfit. You need jeans that are the most flexible color of blue, are the right length to be rolled or unrolled, and can be worn with any type of shoe. For me this staple denim is a skinny jean just because it's the most versatile. A couple of really good layering items like this black and white striped tunic and basic white tunic are perfect for finishing off many different outfits. I love a white tunic peeking out from an oversized sweatshirt. I love rolling the sleeves of a jacket to show the under layer of the outfit. Black and white stripes can be worn with solids and patterns like animal print and plaid. I find a striped piece just adds dimension to an otherwise basic outfit. When deciding on what to keep in your closet or what to consider are your closet staples, you want to keep the items that are the most versatile. You want your staple items to be so flexible, that they can be worn in countless ways. A chambray shirt can be worn layered with leggings, tied with a skirt, to complete a denim on denim look, layered with another button down, over a dress, the options are limitless. I would say that much the same goes for a basic plaid flannel; under, over, tied, tucked, wrapped around your waist, dressed up or dressed down, there are endless styling opportunities. A basic oversized sweatshirt, on the other hand, doesn't necessarily offer an abundance of styling variations, but it does offer you something to look forward to after work in the evenings or as your weekend go-to. This item of clothing has earned it's staple title just for the pure happiness it brings to one's closet. The outer layer, the finishing touch. I think it's safe to say that a classic denim jacket is a given and should have a standing spot reserved in your closet. A good denim jacket could last a lifetime truly, especially if it's one you love as much as I love this one. A denim jacket can be carried throughout an entire year of seasons and serve many purposes. A neutral cardigan can also do much of the same for your year of outfits. No matter my mood, be it a Monday morning or just a cold, not wanting to get out of bed kind of morning, a cardigan with leggings and some cute booties is always the answer for that. It's also the perfect piece to throw on with a t-shirt and shorts on a cool summer night. I love a cardigan for travel and mostly because it not only serves as a good blanket in a car or an airplane but because it can be worn with so many different outfits so you can get away with just bringing one. A white blazer, or any blazer for that matter has earned a spot for me as a closet staple because it's a great go-to when you have that need for it. If you have to dress up just a touch more for work, have an important meeting, or just want to look like a boss, a blazer does the trick. I think it always pulls off a look making it entirely trendy, classy and so put together too. Now, I have to say the shoes were the toughest part for me to nail down. It is so hard to decide what shoes are a must in the closet staple category and which ones are expendable. I think it's important to have one of every basic type of shoe; a tall boot that is perfect to wear with leggings, jeans, dresses and skirts for a more classic, dressed up look. A bootie for a more casual look with, again, jeans, leggings, dresses and skirts. A crisp white pair of tennis shoes for a super casual look and a pair of leopard flats to add something extra to a workwear outfit or a trendy bounce to a Saturday morning coffee run or afternoon of errands. I think if a closet had to be limited I would stick to more neutral colored shoes simply for the flexibility but I would also suggest keeping a pair of black shoes for a simplified look too. Ugh, shoes are so hard to limit!!
There you have it, fifteen closet staples that will keep you looking stylish, add versatility to your wardrobe and be super dependable with endless outfits and styling options.

The tie dye craze came in hot last spring and it's held strong, in fact I would say it's even stronger now! So many people have even turned to tie dye kits to create their own spin on the trend and to give themselves a little something to do during quarantine too. If you're not that motivated, lack talent or a little lazy (like me), I've rounded up some of the cutest tie dye options just for you!
If you haven't already, you better jump on the trend quick! Style options are going fast, it seems that once a favorite is found, it sells out quick, another reason why some are tie dying on their own.
A year ago when I started this blog, I made a list of the goals I had for it and for the social media part of it. The social media aspect is kind of the driving force behind a lot of the traffic I am able to get to my blog. It's definitely the part that makes me the most uncomfortable, vulnerable and feeling way out of my comfort zone, but it's also the part that has taught me a lot about myself this last year. The blog, the writing, this part of it, is what I absolutely love to do! This is the journal therapy for me. Anywho, I reviewed those goals today, a year(ish) later. I was surprised to see how many I was able to check off!
My greatest accomplishment so far happened this week! I finally became a LIKETOKNOW.it influencer! For many of you this means nothing, or maybe you don't know what this means. For me, it's a game changer. I have applied six times over the last year and persevered, which makes the accomplishment even sweeter! The free LIKETOKNOW.it app allows social media influencers to share their items along with shoppable links. For me, over the last year, my followers would see an outfit or something I shared and then they'd have to go searching for it on their own or I would have to find them the item and send them the link in a private message. Well not anymore! Now anyone can shop my looks on the app or right here on the blog under the Shop My Instagram tab at the top of the page, super easy! The best part, as far as reaching goals for this blogging business goes, is that I will now receive a small commission off the links that I share when people make purchases from them. I have been sharing outfits, sales, clothing, accessories and much more for nothing, well for the fun of it, this whole time. And while it is VERY fun for me, and I LOVE when people love what I share, it makes it all even better to be compensated for it. Being a part of the LIKETOKNOW.it app also allows for my content to be seen all over the world. People can search an item and if something that I have shared falls into that category, my page will pop up. This makes the world so small and so collaborative, which is very fun to be a part of. Isn't technology awesome?! While this new step in my adventure brings me more work and responsibility it is also bringing a great amount of opportunity and has me motivated to add more goals on my list for me to just cross off! Happy shopping! It's been a long time since I've done a try on, honestly, it's not my favorite thing to do. It takes so much time and effort. However, I owed it to you all to share all of the wonderful transitional pieces I got this week because they're all so good for Spring and Summer. Some items are even going to be good through Fall and Winter too! Let's start with Target, quick and simple pieces that embrace the tie dye trend that has stayed strong since last Spring! This olive tie dye sweatshirt is very light and great to layer or toss on with a pair of denim cutoffs this Summer. It's also a great color for Fall so it should carry you through a few seasons. I sized up so that it would have a slightly baggy fit. This is a great way to jump on the tie dye bandwagon in a modest way. Click the picture for a link. This basic tie dye v-neck t-shirt is just $8 at Target so it's a perfect simple piece to embrace the trend. Great on it's own or layered under a denim jacket. I sized up but maybe didn't need to. I'd say it fits true to size. Click the picture for the link. I scored a ton of wins in my Old Navy haul this week and it has me even more pumped for Spring Break vacation. I basically bought my vaca wardrobe! 100% without a doubt everyone should have this or something like it in their closet. This is exactly the piece that takes you through the year when styled appropriately. It's so easy to make this basic piece work for so many occasions. It's shown here styled casually with basic white sneakers but would also look perfect with booties, wedges, tall boots, you name it! Click the picture for the link. This shirt dress is the exact same as the chambray one above just in the "matcha green" color. Again, it's another closet staple that will take you through all four seasons. Click the picture for the link. The minute I put this midi on I was in love! I knew it would be the piece I'd live in on our vacation coming up. It's also clearly one that I will wear a ton this summer. I think it will also be a great transitional piece into Fall with a denim jacket layered over top. Click the picture for the link. This jumpsuit was my favorite item of the entire haul, which is saying a lot considering I loved them all! The material is stretchy making it extremely comfortable and not confining. It's also very breathable making it perfect for Spring, Summer and Fall. The buttons are not functional, however, you can easily wear this jumpsuit bra-less or with a comfy strapless. Click the picture for the link. This leopard dress was one that I saw and thought would be perfect as a go to for nights like parent/teacher conferences, or school open house, or even a summer wedding or shower. It's just a nice option to have when you need to dress up a little more than typical. I feel very pretty in this dress, plus, it's leopard print so an obvious must have for me. Click the picture for the link. Isn't this a great color for Spring?! The linen blend material makes it perfect for Summer too. The buttons are functional and I think left undone would make this shirt dress a great swim cover up too! Click the picture for the link. I placed an order with Aerie last weekend ordering all pieces that I wasn't 100% sold on. Honestly, I was expecting to return most of what I ordered because they weren't all sure things. This chambray romper still has me contemplating whether or not I will actually wear it, I am still not 100% sold. However, I am keeping it only because I feel like sometimes I need to just step outside of my ordinary and learn to take risks...this is a risk for me for sure. Click the picture for the link. Finally, these cargo joggers from Aerie were another unsure risk but real winners for me! I especially love the leopard print ones! Here they are both styled casually but picture them with a cute pair of heels on a date night or with flip flops on the beach. I actually think a cute pair of flats and a nice simple sweater would be great for work too.
Click the pictures for the links. All great pieces to transition into Spring and carry you into Summer and even better, all on sale!! I feel like I hit the haul jackpot this week, despite taking a few risks. It's finally sweater weather and with that comes leggings and boots...ahhhhh my favorite two seasons to dress for, Fall and Winter. This girl is happy to style outfits and get herself ready for the day. Prime Wardrobe is a great service that Amazon is providing for Prime members. It's a great way to try clothes you're not sure about or to try sizes you're not confident in choosing. You pay only for what you keep and you send the rest back within 7 days. You have all control over the items that come to you and the items you wish to keep. My latest Prime Wardrobe haul certainly had a theme as far as mostly all tunics and quite a few black and white striped options. Many of the items are closet staples and a few are on trend for the current and coming season. *** Note that the links will take you to the exact item, it just may not be the size or color option you wish for so you'll have to change your selections on the link for each product. *** Sweatshirt dresses are big for Fall and Winter and look perfect with knee high or over the knee boots. This particular sweatshirt dress would look great under a trench or soft-brushed coat. You could also dress it down with a pair of sneakers and a denim jacket for an even more casual look. Click the pictures for details. The color of this tunic crew is perfect for the season and it looks great with leggings, especially the faux leathers. Of course you could also pair it with jeans and the perfect scarf and you'd be good to go for a day out in cooler weather. Click the picture for details. This striped tunic is a clutch item to have through most of the year and one that I will be keeping for sure. It's a great piece to wear alone or layered for extra warmth. It's also a great length to wear with leggings but also looks awesome with jeans. Versatile pieces like this are what I look for when purchasing new staples for my closet. Click the pictures for details. I have a love for cowl neck sweaters these days and this one especially for it's length. It's so soft and great to wear under a vest. The color is an awesome neutral, perfect for pairing with a statement bootie! Click the picture for details. The search for a black and white striped tee or short sleeve is difficult, especially when you're going for perfection. This is a great option to wear with a side tucked into jeans or denim shorts for the Summer but then is perfect for laying under cardigans and jackets with leggings for Fall and Winter. During the colder months I would much rather wear a short sleeve or sleeveless top under a sweater or jacket, it's a good happy medium for warmth and always just seems much more comfortable. Click the pictures for details. This is a great black and white striped option to wear on it's own. It's a cable knit sweater, not as soft as others but a good quality material and a great shape to wear with black denim and could even be paired with a skirt or dress pants for work. Click the pictures for details. I haven't decided yet what I'll be keeping and returning from this latest Prime Wardrobe haul but I will say it's not going to be easy to decide. Although I did order plenty of black and white striped options, they are all unique and can be styled so differently. I'll definitely have to think a few days on these, and luckily with this service, I have the time.
I have been waiting (very impatiently) for Fall to arrive along with it's famous and much loved temperatures. Sorry summer lovers, I love summer too but by now it's time to say good bye to those high temps so that we can all wear our favorite clothes! Fall is for sure the best season to dress for, that's one of the reasons why it's a favorite season for many. I have finally put away the flip flops and broken out the best fall shoe line up there could be! I have included details and links for the shoes I have as well as dupes and look a like alternatives. Click on the pictures. These Steve Madden Rockstar Booties are perfection! They are the perfect piece to add style to so many different outfits. The alternative booties are available at Red Dress boutique for less than half the price! Lucky Brand created these snakeskin booties and they did an amazing job providing us with a mellow snakeskin that allows us to embrace the trend without being too flashy. Option number two is available at Target for a fraction of the price! I live in loafers and flats at school just because I am standing and kneeling all day and heels aren't always very practical for me. These leopard loafers are a Target find available in a few other color options. These dupes are brought to you by Walmart's Time and Tru brand. These snakeskin mules are the perfect transitional piece to wear to work on a hot Fall day. Red Dress Boutique has a similar, but darker pair available and like the pair I own, can be worn with so many solid color options. This pair is also available in leopard! These Steve Madden snakeskin loafers were THE shoes of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and were restocked multiple times to keep up with the demand. They are all you'd ever imagine and like most snakeskin, they can be worn with so many fall colors to add trend and style to everyday wear. Express has presented these perfect dupes at less than half the price. Although, they lack the studded detail the color of the snakeskin is what matters the most in this shoe. I waited for weeks for Nordstrom to restock these Steve Madden camo sneaker booties! Camo is so perfect for Fall and these booties look amazing with leggings and skinny jeans. They portray such cool and casual style and are so fun to wear.
Vici has a similar pair available also with the hidden wedge for very affordable price. I used to always try to purchase clothing that I could multipurpose. I'd buy pieces that I could wear to work and out and about. Although I still have some pieces that I can wear for many different situations, work is work and play is play for me. There are just so many guidelines and rules for work and so your hands are just kind of tied. I always have spells throughout the school year when I just hate my clothes, and I feel less than inspired to put together stylish outfits that I feel good in and that I haven't already worn out. While pants are just staples in your closet, tops always need updated and refreshed. Shein is a great resource for that. Although the quality isn't top notch, the pricing is perfect for giving your closet a seasonal face lift. I've put together some work wear options that really would work with whatever pant or bottom option you have in your closet already for work. These tops are a way to bring fall trends and style to your closet without busting your budget. ![]() This maroon color is spot on for fall and the cut of the blouse is so feminine, it's sure to make you feel pretty. Be sure to size up in any Shein top. I am wearing a size large in all of the blouses in this post. Click the picture for details. Floral print is it for fall, especially "moody" floral like this black and white option also from Shein. This one ties at the back of the neck for added style and it looks perfect with these black high waisted skinny pants from Express. Click the picture for details. How super fun is this leopard print? I love the gold hue as the main color and then the teal color that is embedded in the leopard pattern is so unique. This top could be carried into the holiday season for work parties too! Click the picture for details. This is my absolute favorite color and it's the perfect color to wear for the fall season as well as through the holidays. I love the puffy sleeves, which are on trend for fall and the material is slightly thicker making it great for the cooler fall air. Click the picture for details. My first ever bodysuit! I feel like I fought the style for a while but it just looks so dang perfect with paper bag waisted anything! These pants are from Express and the bodysuit is the perfect basic that can be worn with so many bottom options. Click the picture for details. This ribbed knit midi skirt is not only perfect for work attire but it is so unbelievably comfortable, I would rank it right up there with leggings! It's great with a blouse or with a sweater. I'll wear it with a denim jacket or chambray top and even a cardigan. It is a great Target find. Click either picture for details. Finally, this denim midi from JC Penny is the answer to everything! It's perfect for work (especially if you're a teacher) and can be worn with anything you'd wear with jeans. I love it with booties and would totally pair it with a sweater too! Click the picture for details.
what to wear when you're the football and soccer and hockey and all the outdoor sports mom9/13/2019 My favorite past time in life is watching my kids do what they love to do. Rowan figured out before he started walking that playing sports would be his passion. Grady is much more open to other things and really enjoys trying anything new. He is extremely artistic and loves anything with music. I must say though, he does have that competitive edge naturally from both Nick and I, and because of that he also enjoys hockey, soccer and even baseball. We spend a ton of time outside or in cold rinks for the better part of the year. This time of year while I am back to school shopping and worrying a lot about work wear attire, I am even more worried about staying warm (and cute) on the sidelines and in the bleachers. I've had some luck lately finding some great comfy (and again, cute) sweater options from Amazon, some through Wardrobe so I could try them first before I purchased. All are great options to wear with fleece lined leggings, or any leggings as well as skinny jeans and booties. In a month or two I can toss on a toque (also known as a hat or a beanie), even a puffy vest and some thermal boots and I'll be good to go to cheer on my little athletes. I may live in this loose fitting tunic sweatshirt for the rest of my life. Ha! Honestly, perfect to wear as seen with skinny jeans, or leggings. I can see it on the sidelines of a game, curled up on the couch on a lazy football Sunday afternoon and especially around a campfire! I actually want to order it in every color. Click on the picture for details. This cozy knit hoodie is unbelievably soft and is available to try with Prime Wardrobe. So you can try it out for seven days before you decide whether you want to keep it, trust me you will! Click on the picture for details. That's right, you're seeing double with this one! I HAD to go back for more. I actually tried out the grey heather color using Prime Wardrobe and I loved it so much that I ordered it and added in the black heather. It's so warm and the perfect length to keep the booty warm too! Click the pictures for details.
Whether you are keeping warm on the sidelines or just ready for some fall and winter cozy apparel, all four of these are great option for your casual style and because they are timeless, the are sure to be in your closet for years to come. I think the Spanx Faux Leather Leggings were the most purchased item in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I don't know that for a fact, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was true. So why not take a look at the many different ways these babies can be styled?! The thing I love about these leggings is that you can style them like any other leggings, they just add an edge and give so much more to an outfit. I personally, tend to wear any kind of leggings, including these, with a longer more tunic style top just because my lower half is wider than my upper body so it just seems more comfortable and flattering to me. Many others, however, look amazing and have no problem showing off these leggings in full length with a crop top or a regular length shirt. No matter which way you choose, I'm a fan of how these leggings look styled every which way. So here ya go...12 ways you can change it up going into Fall and throughout the Winter. Spanx Faux Leather Leggings 1. Since it is still Summer, let's start with a cute date night option. A lace trim cami adds a feminine touch to these otherwise edgy leggings. Depending on where you're going or how sexy you want your date night to be, you can either go with simple flats or a strappy heel to finish off this look. Floral Print V-Neck Lace Trim Cami Comparable Strappy heel Slip On Pointy Toe Mule Black Lace Camisole Tank 2. Transitioning from Summer to Fall can be so much fun as far as styling outfits and adding change up options to what you've been wearing for a few months. A blouse with a pop of color, like this pink, has Summer still hanging on but if it's paired with a neutrally patterned bootie, it's got Fall written all over it. Puff Sleeve Top Lucky Brand Yimina Wedge Snakeskin Bootie 3. I LOVE a scarf! If you walked into my closet you would see that I have an obscene collection of scarves, to me the accessory of all accessories. Quite frankly, if the blanket scarf ever goes out of style, it won't ever actually go out of style for me. You'll still see me rockin' a scarf for years to come and I won't feel bad about it. A scarf is an amazing way to add style to any outfit. Take this, a basic white tee paired with the faux leathers and toss on an animal print scarf of any nature and you've got yourself some perfect transitional Fall style. Pair some neutral booties or flats with this number and you'll walk away turning heads. Try a plaid blanket scarf as an alternative option to animal print and be on trend this Fall too. 'Whisper' Cotton Crew Neck Leopard Blanket Scarf Option #1 Leopard Blanket Scarf Option #2 Lucky Brand Yabba Wedge Bootie Plaid Blanket Scarf Option 4. Adding a cardigan to a pair of leggings just seems so standard, and trust me, I do it on the weekly, but adding it to these faux leathers over a white tank or a basic tee is just plain smart if you ask me. It's a great way to tone down the leggings without taking away from them. You can dress a cardi outfit up for work with some animal print mules or keep it casual with a pair of white sneakers for running errands or just hanging out. Whisper Cotton Crew Neck Round Neck Sleeveless Tank BP. Longline Open Cardigan Chuck Taylor All Star Lift Sneaker Chic Snakeskin Flat 5. Plaid is comin' in hot for Fall and it's again, another way to tone down these otherwise, edgy leggings without taking away their intentions. Wear a plaid button down either open over a white tank or tee or simply tied around your waist and look amazing with these leggings. This look would be great with white or black sneakers. Time and Tru - Button Front Chuck Taylor All Star Lift Sneaker Reese Quilted Sneaker 6. If you don't already have a denim jacket in your closet, you've gotta get on it. This is not a trend, this is a staple, a must have, wear with anything, through all the seasons, closet staple. This too looks amazing over a simple tank with these leggings. Of course, adding an animal print like these leopard loafers or snakeskin booties adds a little style and trend to this simple ensemble. Micah Pointy Toe Loafer Lucky Brand Yimina Wedge Snakeskin Bootie Distressed Jean Jacket 7. Mustard, caramel and marigold are amazing colors for Fall and you will definitely be seeing me wearing this tunic blouse with the fauxs. Not only is the color perfect but the weight and length of the blouse are perfect too. Any tunic style blouse would look great with these leggings along with a pair of simple black booties. You can always style this with a layered necklace and a bracelet to add some flare. Casual Chiffon Tunic Blouse Option #1 Roll Tab Sleeve Tunic Option #2 Lush Split Neck Woven Long Sleeve Option #3 Steve Madden Rookie Bootie Lucky Brand Yimina Wedge Snakeskin Bootie 8. Sporting these faux leathers in a casual way is just unpredictable. This is a fun way to style them to run errands, or just to relax with family and friends while still looking stylish and tendy. Aerie Desert Sweatshirt Leopard Sneaker Option Calia By Carrie Underwood Satin Hat 9. I love a chunky, long sweater and shooting the rest of these styles really made me (I hate to say it) yearn for sweater weather! Shhhhhh! These leggings look amazing in the winter with a long chunky knit sweater and even as you transition from late Fall. This syling leaves you feeling chic and cozy. This hot pink in particular looks fabulous with snakeskin print. Neon Pink Boyfriend Sweater Chic Snakeskin Flat Lucky Brand Yimina Wedge Snakeskin Bootie 10. Another long chunky sweater I love to wear with these leggings. It looks super cute on a girls night out or a day night with the over the knee boots to show just a few inches of the faux leather. Long Grey Sweater Option Chic Snakeskin Flat Steve Madden Rookie Bootie Halogen Scarlett Over the Knee Boot 11. This is a super simple way to style the leggings, but many wouldn't think to go black on black. It works when you spice it up or break up the black with a statement shoe like these leopard print booties. This outfit would also look amazing with over the knee boots in a neutral color. Long Black Sweater Option Steve Madden Rockstar Leopard Booties 12. This really might be my absolute favorite way to style these leggings, and an outfit that I will be seen in many times throughout the Fall and Winter. I love how the white tank/tee breaks up the darkness and adds a pop to the cardigan. I would probably lean toward the black bootie or even a sleek black flat for this outfit just because of the length of the sweater. However, these over the knee boots would look great with a shorter leopard cardi or even a sweater.
Leopard Cardigan Basic White Tee Halogen Scarlett Over the Knee Boot Steve Madden Rookie Bootie I am a proud Amazon Prime member and really don't know how I ever lived without it years ago. I do like to shop local as much as I can and I do when it makes sense. It is still very important to do so when the opportunity is there. However, Amazon is just like an other big box store but the two-day shipping and free returns just can't be beat. I think many of us have gotten into the habit of checking Amazon first before we jump in the car to head to the other side of town to the nearest big box option.
With a Prime membership comes many perks. Series, movies and rentals, music streaming, different charitable and fundraising options, and now a "try it before you buy it" clothing opportunity. This isn't my first rodeo with a "try before you buy" service. I am not going to name names but I was part of a service once where I sent in my bio, measurements, likes and dislikes and a stylist would send me a handful of options for me to try on and decide what to keep and what to send back. I didn't really have much control over what was being sent to me, the brands or the quality and I ended up not being a long lasting customer of the service. So I have been trying out Prime Wardrobe and promised I would deliver you my feedback once I had enough experience to report. So here it goes, the pros and the cons... CON: Items seem to be a touch more expensive than just simply shopping on Prime. I am not sure that's factual but it definitely seemed that way to me. CON: It is difficult or takes much more time to find items that are available on Prime Wardrobe. CON: Once you do find the available items it does seem that options are somewhat limited and not necessarily "on trend" items. CON: There is not an option for two-day shipping when you use this service. The items that I have received have typically taken 5-7 days to arrive. CON: Debit cards are prohibited for this service and the use of credit cards is all that is allowed. I am assuming so that they can hold patrons accountable for paying for what they actually want to keep and what they forget to send back. PRO: It's great for when you are shopping for basics. There are a ton of basic tees and tanks, sweaters, pants and just solid closet staples. PRO: It's great for those that are in between sizes. You can order two sizes, try them both on, keep what fits and send back what doesn't. PRO: You are allowed to order up to seven items on Prime Wardrobe which is more than most other "try it before you buy it" services. PRO: The Amazon Daily Ritual brand is a great brand that seems to make up most of what's available on Prime Wardrobe. So you know you aren't getting anything from overseas where the sizing might be completely different or the quality is a risk. PRO: You have full control over what is coming your way. You decide what you're going to try on and you get to try it on in the comfort of your own home. All in all, I will use this service again, it doesn't cost anything extra for existing Prime members and it's a great way to try on basic staples if you're unsure on sizing. It's still much easier than getting in the car and searching for hours for a needed item that you might not ever actually find.
